As we prepare for the highly anticipated Longest Kitchen Renovation Ever Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You, let’s talk about inspiration! My inspiration comes from Christopher Alexander, whose book A Pattern Language is an analysis of what many of us already intuit in our appreciation of the timelessness of certain forms of building, and indeed he has another book called A Timeless Way of Building on the same theme. (I will touch on some of his ideas, good and bad!)
