~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
Finishing up the kitchen removed a huge logistical and mental block to all sorts of other projects and led to quite the flurry of activity around here. I have moved nearly every piece of furniture in my house at least once in the last ten days. (I use the pronoun “I” generously here, as a few pieces of furniture that have moved several times during that time period are ones that, enormously pregnant or not, I can't even pretend to budge. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I have a very patient husband.)
Anyway, I do plan on putting together a more thorough kitchen post, with before and after pictures and notes on how we did it all, but until I get my act together for that, here are a few quick peeks at my pretty new kitchen.
Playing in the rain is one of the great joys of childhood, but, having spent most of his life in Southern California, he hasn't gotten too many chances to splash around outside! (We've had some impressive storms since moving here, but most of them have come too late for him to be outside.)
He's making up for lost time now. Puddles! Gutters! Rain! Then inside for a bath before bedtime: the perfect end to a hot summer day.
(Ok, maybe some ice cream first. Then it's perfect.)
We've been working on Pippo's ice cream cone skills. He's improving. |
I lived like this for about six weeks. Somehow it didn't occur to me until a few days before we put the drawers back in that I could, you know, just turn the thing around.
Though Pippo and I did go yesterday and pick out some fabric for new cradle sheets, let's just say I'm currently… underprepared.
