Auntie Leila is going to be in town, and we had the idea of trying to organize a last-minute Southern California LMLD Meetup!
We were thinking of setting up shop at a park (in North County San Diego) with the kids and some snacks and maybe a little knitting (well, I don't knit, but I do have a toddler to chase), and chit chat with anyone who joins us. Does that sound like fun? Would you be interested in doing this?
We're going to plan it on our Facebook page, because that seems more convenient than going back and forth in the comments box. Do you “like” us on Facebook? It's another way to stay in touch, and maybe even we can do more events like this!
{If you aren't on Facebook, but want to be in the loop on this, leave a comment or shoot me an email. (my address is on the sidebar there on the right)}
So go “like” us if you don't already, and let us know if this sounds like a good idea! And like us no matter where you live, because you never know when we may turn up!
ps – Don't forget, you can link up to {pretty, happy, funny, real} all weekend!

I would be there in person for sure. However, I live in Oregon and won't be able to make the park party. I'll be looking here to see when the fun starts so my knitting needles can click away and I can talk to myself in your honor….

Rosie,
That sounds awesome! I wish I could come and escape the Minnesota winter, but alas…
Have fun, though! I'll be there in spirit!

ooh– I'm in Oregon, too! My sister is in Ventura, though- and she's an avid reader! (of course- I told her about you!)
Elena says
Southern California sounds pretty good about now!
Rhonda says
Let me know please when you come to Pittsburgh.
Kendra Fletcher says
I'd be delighted to hang out with you all! But FB might be the only way for now 😉

This is a fabulous idea! I SO wish I could join the fun! A break from an admittedly mild (so far) Minnesota winter would be delightful. I simply love San Diego and a visit to my in-laws in Huntington Beach would be wonderful, too! I haven't plunged into Facebook yet so I can't Like you there, I'm afraid. I can't wait for the post-Meetup blogpost and pictures – lots of pictures, please!
Harmony says
I also wish I could make it all the way down the length of California to join you :^( Hope you have a good time!
Pippajo says
No fair! Here I am, possibly stranded because of the snow, in Amherst, Mass and you're having a meet-up in Cali.? Seriously, though, I hope you have a fabulous time! And when you plan your national tour, please make sure you put Philly on the schedule!
Laurie says
How fun. Hope it works out! I'm in N. CA or, echoing the other people, I would be there too!
Tamara says
Make sure to stop by Denver on the way to Philly!!! 🙂
MamabearJD says
So fun, can't wait to see how it goes!

What a great idea! Would trade our foot of snow for some sunshine right about now (especially with the chance to let kids run around at a park for a couple of hours!). Hope you have fun and that Auntie Leila has a wonderful visit. Emily B
Margo says
oh how FUN. You have to do an East Coast spot too! Then I could maybe swing it 🙂
Valerie says
*waves from NZ*
with you in spirit! Have fun.
Anne Marie says
I so desperately want to hang out with you in sunny southern California. Someone please tell me why I ever left CA for the midwest.
Chris says
I live in southern CA and would love to meet up!!
Debbie says
Wish I could be there! How about a trip to Our Lady's U. at some point? Don't you guys want to come visit the Grotto?! You and Pippo should plan a trip back to Mass. this summer, though; we'll be sojourning in Cambridge again.
Love,
Debbie

This is fantastic news! I have been following your blog for a long time, and I never thought I would ever really get to meet any of you, so I definitely plan on being there on Thursday. Already making alternate plans for getting the kids home from school without me 🙂

I would love to meet up with you! I live in Los Angeles but I am from San Diego. My sister is due with her second baby any day now and she lives in the south bay. My older kids are in school so the only way I could justify taking them out of school would be to visit my new nephew and stop by the park on the way down. It is in Gods hands so maybe I will get to meet you if he decides to be born in the next couple of days 🙂
It would be fun because my youngest Johnny is just 1 month older than Pippo!
Thank you so much for setting this up!

Have fun! Let us know when you plan a West Michigan meet-up! 😉

I'm with everyone else requesting that you guys go on tour!! Please make a stop in northern Indiana!!!
Mrs. B. says
And another meet-up in the D.C. area, please! But let's wait for the cherry blossom.. 😉
Karen says
Yes! I do want to hang out with you. And we can ask any questions? Like how does Aunty Leila teach Euclid's Elements? And what is the BEST way to remove deodorant stains under the arms? Not to mention ring-around-the-collar, which seems impossible to remove in So California's hard water?
Kim says
I would love the meet up….
Anitra says
If only! I am unfortunately in central Massachusetts. I'm sure my Asher would love to play with Pippo! (If i recall, they're about 2 months apart.)
Mrs. Pickles says
Can you please please have one of these in No Va when the weather warms up? Pretty-please? I want to show off my knitting (especially the stripeknight sweater)! 🙂
_Leila says
Well, Mrs. Pickles, that sounds like a good idea!
