Yes! We chose the winners for our giveaway of the attractive CorningWare dish and the Langstroth bee book!
We were so excited by all the comments you left! Some of you even commented just to say hi! That was so kind of you… and others were so very complimentary, not taking the chance to say how dumb we are, even though we said you could!
So, without further eloquence, here is a video of the grand drawing (or you can skip straight to the pictures of the winning comments if you would like to save almost six minutes of your life, and I certainly wouldn't blame you. We are just learning here, folks; we aren't trying to waste your time on purpose :).
This video was produced with the intention of amusing you and showing you how scrupulously honest this contest was, although in the process the camera person didn't have the camera pointed in the right direction at all times. Oops.
Yes, we specialize in unnecessary complications 🙂
{Mom, don't give away two things! Don't have so many rules! Don't confuse them and us! Pish-tosh! But…}
But it was fun. Okay, right, the video:
Congratulations MomE! I hope you love your little faded refrigerator dish! Send me your address!
Congratulations WunderMom — Becky J! Send me an email with your address, and your book will be on its way! If you didn't want the book (it was a little unclear, but I think you did!), we'll do another drawing to give the book to someone else — and you will still get a little something nice. Your name WAS in the other drawing, just so you know!
Again, with the complications… sheesh, why can't we just do things the normal way?
Now, as the Genie says in Aladdin, there are some caveats and quid pro quos:
1. We didn't intend for the winners both to have to have the name “Mom” in their title, it just happened that way.
2. If anyone would like to order the bee book anyway, here is the link:
Langstroth's Hive and the Honey-Bee: The Classic Beekeeper's Manual
Thanks again for participating! We'll do another one — maybe after the wedding 🙂

Oh, what a neat video- I always find it fascinating to hear the voices of those I read online. Loved it, thank you for sharing!
Leila says
Mary, thanks!Tracy, that is a sore point, don't you think??We each thought the others sounded okay but that we ourselves sound DUMB and TERRIBLE!!!And lisping!! Are we a family of lispers? No offense to any lisping families out there…But at least we had fun 🙂 in a boring, unnecessarily lengthy way…

Loved hearing your voices too–you all are so fun! Great job on the giveaway!
Pippajo says
Everyone thinks they sound dumb and terrible when they hear their voice on tape for the first time. It's just cause we're not used to hearing it that way. I think you all sounded charming!AND I couldn't help notice (though the I missed it the first time) the comment about PG Tips! I, too, have a box of the stuff in my cupboard, but I have to say I much prefer Typhoo, have you tried it? I suppose it's a matter of preference as they are both pretty popular among the tea taking set. I'm going to go back and stalk through your blog and look for it now!

I loved hearing your voice! I'm so excited to have the little dish living in my kitchen…reminding me of you!
Tracy says
No, not a sore point at all! I think we each have an idea of what another person "sounds like" when they write…and sometimes it matches up to what they "actually" sound like, and sometimes it completely doesen't. You guys definitely don't lisp- ha! And the other ladies ase so right, we all think we sound weird when listening to ourselves.
WunderMom says
BeckyJ here! I am so excited I won the book! Yes, I would love the book, please. I'm sorry I was so confusing! Your daughters are lovely and sweet. They did a fabulous job and I enjoyed the video.I noticed that along with the PG Tips tea you also had Nutella and I think I recognize the big jar of Nutiva Coconut Oil. Those are two more unusual things our cabinets have in common. That might sound stalkerish, but it's nice to find folks who enjoy the things you enjoy. Sending you an email now!
Leila says
Tracy, you know I was kidding you, right?? We had JUST finished telling each other, "I had a lisp, YOU didn't have a lisp!!" and moaning over how silly we are!!!I'm glad you like our voices. We are definitely going to inflict them on you all again!! Beware! Be very ware!!Dear MomE– don't forget to email me your address! leilamarielawler (at) gmail.comOh– and to all you who commented on the PG Tips! Becky, you stalker you! I have to tell you that I have always ALWAYS used Lipton! That box had just been given to me by a friend who is married to a Scot, and I chuckled when I thought of my bloggy friends who would swoon over that box…I have yet to open it. I'm VERY attached to Lipton, gotta tell you! 😉
Leila says
Pippajo! You won't find any Typhoo! Stalk away!!

hahaha! We did have fun making the video, but way more fun laughing at ourselves afterward! At least you can tell easily that we are not sophisticated enough for any fancy editing, so obviously the drawing was in real-time and quite un-biased! hahaha!

What a treat to watch your video! Thank you for making it to share with us. Would you consider taking us on a little video tour of your house and your backyard? (… after the wedding – after you rest & recharge.)
