{Comments are closed! We will announce the winner soon! Meanwhile, don't forget to use the code LIKEMOTHER to get your 20% off all Minted cards — till Nov. 1!}
We are once again offering a giveaway of some very lovely cards! As you know, Natasha, my daughter-in-law, has the position of impresario and general factotum at Minted.
My inside connection enables me to offer you this chance to win $250 worth of Minted cards this Christmas! Details at the end of this post!
You know me, I'm probably not the type to a) get my act together enough to get a photo together and b) spend a lot of moula on cards, although I do love sending them.
But I think if I could win the cards I would be motivated to figure things out, wouldn't you?
And I will say that Minted has it all – beautiful paper, graphics, typography, ease of customizing. In fact, you can put your own words on these cards – you could add in a verse from Scripture with your message if you choose the folded card!
I find that very appealing.
Here's the thing about sending a Christmas greeting. Once a year we are given a chance to do two things: Touch base with those we might otherwise drift away from, in an awkward-free fashion; and offer friends and loved ones a little taste of what we actually believe.
People are grateful to know that you want to share the truth with them. They know that it means you love them. Christmas is the celebration of Christ's arrival into our sorry world. It's the celebration of the sanctification of human nature — of our salvation. We don't have to — and we shouldn't — hit anyone with that reality. We don't want to turn “Merry Christmas” into a kind of bludgeon or rebuke!
Instead, we can confidently offer our greetings with love! Simple — and beautiful — a benediction! Yes, people have commercialized Christmas to a degree that makes those with faith wonder if we should participate in any of it. I worry about that too. But I've come to the conclusion that this custom of sending cards at a certain time each year can be used as a force for good!
So yes, even this thrifty, disorganized, and distracted mama has kept the resolution to send Christmas cards. I put postage in the budget. I think of it as almsgiving; as part of my tithe — I really do. I hope God does too. To me, it's a work of mercy to send a card — not that I think I'm that important, but I know how much I appreciate getting a card from a friend, and figure that it's something like that for them.
So head on over to Minted and browse around! They have a holiday card category (which has a lot of Christmas-oriented cards as well), and a specifically Christmas one.
And, speaking as a Grandma, I have to encourage you to check out these little minibook cards. Oh my. This amounts to a luxe gift, in my opinion! What grandparents wouldn't love to have this in their baby-starved hands! And again, you can customize everything about it! Even order it now and supply the photos later.
It also strikes me that you can get good ideas for what photos to choose or quickly snap. The photography is inspiring, isn't it? Lots of the pictures aren't particularly holiday-esque, so let that encourage you to get a fun shot of the family, even if you don't have everyone in matching reindeer outfits.
Not only do we have this giveaway, but for this week only, if you enter LIKEMOTHER in your order, you will get 20% off!
So, to put it all in one place for you:
Go to Minted and look around.
Come back here and leave a comment telling us which one(s) you like. Feel free to tell us why!
If you Tweet or Facebook the giveaway, leave another comment and you'll be entered again! Meaning you could enter up to three times!
We will choose the winner with a random-number generator.
Even if you don't win, you'll get 20% off (use LIKEMOTHER at checkout) anything you like over there. That code will be good until November 1.
Giveaway ends at 10pm on Friday.
Good luck!
Beth F says
I really like the Madonna and Child card. 🙂
Rachael says
woot! I like the mini book, too. The grandparents all live at a distance, and I know they'd like getting a mini book.
Rachael says
I posted it on facebook! Oh, I hope I win!
Becka says
There are so many it would be very hard to choose! I do love the family mini recipe booklet idea though. It would be a wonderful keepsake with pictures of the family with the favorite recipes.
Kristen says
It's not just that you featured the card (really, I promise!), but I'd have to choose the “O, Come All Ye Faithful” card. That hymn is such an important part of our Christmases — caroling and worshiping together. I'd be happily singing it (in English and in Latin!) as I addressed my cards.
Thanks for such a generous and inspiring giveaway.
Deb W. says
Too many lovely options to choose at once without hours of indecision! *S*
What a marvelous gift!
Blessings on the journey~
Deb W. says
Oh… posted this give-away to facebook also. 🙂
Blair says
Lovely cards, all of them! How to choose? I think I'll pick the Simple Charm Christmas Photo Cards.
nicolefrancine says
I love the “Tra La La La” card! It makes me giggle, especially because my youngest daughter insists that each year we all sing Christmas carols, despite our collective lack of singing skills. It's a fun tradition for us, singing together while snuggled on the couch, passing the lyrics back and forth.
Angela says
I love Be Merry and Bright
priest's wife says
I like the 'celebrating Christ' option- second choice is the 'foliage' one
very very nice!
I am facebooking with my real name and tweeting with P's W name
for those interested, I have a very little book giveaway at my blog
Beth says
Well, it's mighty hard to figure out what I like best but since we're all so spread out and couldn't all be in one photo, I like the Classic Christmas collage. Just going to post this to fb for another chance. Thanks for such a wonderful and timely giveaway!
Angela in MT says
I love the:
Holiday Nostalgia Christmas Card
All Ye Faithful – because it is my favorite carol
and The Noel Christmas card
What a great giveaway, thanks!
Emily G says
The card with the Madonna and Child on it is beautiful. I'd choose that one.
Mary says
I'd have to pick the “Unto Us a Child is Born” card…we're due in mid December with our newest little one and I was hoping that our Christmas cards this year could function as both joint birth announcement/Christmas card. That line would be perfect 🙂 Thank you for the opportunity!
palak says
I was so surprised and delighted to find that they have diwali cards as well. We'd love to send these out for our family! How wonderful!
Kathryn says
Oh wow, these are lovely! I like the Nativity one, but I'll have to see if I have a picture of all 3 kids together. Wiggly baby never stays still very long.
Jenny says
Well, you had me at the O Come all ye Faithful, but there are so many that I love. And I also love the option of pattern backing..darling! I love the Noel vintage as well. Thanks for turning me on to a new (to me) company!
Jen C. says
Wow, those are all beautiful. Even if I don't win, I might use minted.com for my cards this year! I love the ones that have the text right on the photo, like “Falalalala” and “Happy everything”. I would use it to frame afterward too!
Ellie Fitzptrick says
I love the Be Merry and Bright card and of course those mini books are just awesome!
Taryn says
These are all so beautiful! I like Antique Noel Holiday Photo Cards and Joyeux Noel Holiday Photo Cards and All Ye Faithful Holiday Photo Cards… I couldn't choose! They're great designs.
Andrea says
I love these! My favorite (I think) is the Modern Headline “Peace on Earth” card.
Jenny says
Turns out I like the ones best you've show-cased here already 🙂 I especially like the “Oh come, all ye faithful” one.
MamaHen says
Adorable! I like the Snowflake Tree card.
Bethany says
Never have I seen so many beautiful cards in one place! I would have a very hard time deciding if I were having to actually decide at this moment, but I think I would pick the Joy to the World ones.
Dixie says
Ooh! There are so many beautiful cards, and so many fun ones, too! I think I like the Paris card best (and the other Joyeux Noel ones) simply because we just moved back to the states from France, and I think our family and friends would get a kick out of it.
Suzanne Mariani says
I like them all, but especially the Vintage Photograph card. They are beautiful!
Suzanne says
Loved them all, but I'd have to pick the Joy to the World card – is there a more appropriate greeting for Christmas?
CMerie says
You read my mind. I was just thinking this morning that I needed to get my act together and start thinking about doing our Christmas picture. Last year we used Shutterfly, but I love, LOVE this! Hope I win, this would seriously help out the budget. So for favorites, I love the minibooks, my mother lives 1900 miles away, and these are her only grandchildren. Talk about starved for the babies! For Christmas cards, I love the All Ye Faithful card, and I really like the Grande Noel card as well (what a great idea!).
Joanie says
I love the “Oh, come all ye faithful card!

Jennifer Gregory Miller says
This would sooo help my Christmas budget, but I never win anything! I do like Christmas Plaid or Mistletoe Merry that have the 3 layout. Thanks for this offer.
Kristy says
I love the polka stripes holiday minibooks because we live in a different country than all of our family and a different state than the majority of our friends. I would love to send a picture book of our children to them, but with pending hand surgery (dominant hand, of course) I will be fortunate to get out cards let alone cards with notes. This would allow me to send out a picture update and story of the children and not feel guilty about the no notes part!
Shanna Prine says
I love the Year in Review Christmas Card. Super cute & super informative!
Sonja says
I like the Sketchbook Foliage card a teensy bit better than all the rest of them.
If I win this contest, I predict many sleepless nights trying to choose… unless there's a “one of each” option?! (In which case the sleepless nights would be spent deciding who gets which card, haha!)
Jacinthe says
How am I supposed to tell you which ones I like best?!? I like them ALL! They're SO beautiful I can't believe it! Thanks a lot for the giveaway. 🙂
I didn't have time to check everything, but the All Ye Faithful and Classic Merry Christmas cards are gorgeous. I really do think it would be *hard* to choose a favorite!!!
Chickensinmykitchen says
Holy smokes, those are gorgeous. I really could not decide, but if I have to say, I loved the Wintry Pine, because I loved the pattern on the back so much!
Jacinthe says
I “facebooked” about your awesome giveaway about two minutes ago. 🙂
laceymw says
My favorites are the “Rejoice” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” photo cards. ADORABLE!!!
laceymw says
I tweeted too! =)
jennifer3 says
Pretty! I love so many of them, I just wish I had a family photo all ready!I am really liking the oh come all ye faithful card that you chose to put up, too.
BeckyJ says
What a great giveaway! Ooh, I love the Wintry Pine selection of cards with the lovely print on the back. Beautiful!
Katie says
Wow! These are beautiful. I like . . . all of them? I'm having a hard time narrowing my favorites down! I have to say, I like that each greeting is customizable. It's so frustrating to find what would be the perfect Christmas card if only it said, “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays” or “Season's Greetings.”
BEckyJ says
Oh, and I shared on Facebook!
Elise says
oh, my- it would be such an amazing blessing for our family this year to win this! i looked around and was completely overwhelmed by all the beauty and ideas- i do have to say that the holiday minibooks are fantastic- what great gift ideas for grandparents and aunts and uncles- and even daddies who travel! 🙂
thank you so much for this opportunity! love this sweet place, and all the gentle hearts here.
Gwen says
I love the simplicity of the Classic Merry Christmas card as well as the Rejoice card. But, wow, the halleluja card is amazing. So many choices!
Anne@ModernMrsDarcy says
Merry bright cheer Christmas! It has just the right amount of a vintage-y feel for me.
Anne@ModernMrsDarcy says

I love the wintry pine one! The backing paper is super cute.
HollyElise says
I love the “Peace on Earth Banner” card (baby's first Christmas), but I also love the “Merry Typography Christmas” card. Hmm… I don't know which one I'd pick!
LJ says
I posted on Facebook too!
Susan says
Hmmm – not sure which one would work best. My family members like to cut off the greeting and frame the photo for the fridge/work desk. Last year was the first year I never got around to sending these out, and I was reminded that we can't skip this year! Thanks for the offer!
Meave says
I love the mini books, and the Isaiah 9:6 card. I'm impressed with all the lovely card options!
Michelle says
They are all so beautiful but my favorite so far was the Sketchbook Foliage. It's such a pretty card and I love how pretty the back of it is too. The mini books are great too.
Celeste says
My favorite is probably the kraft ribbon holiday photo card–very classy!
Serena says
Can't believe it is time to start planning cards, but then maybe that is why mine get sent out in January. (Try to get them out before Epiphany!) I like the Snowman Type card, how fun for the words to form the snowman!
Dayna says
I love the Noel Angel cards. Beautiful things!
HollyElise says
I posted the link to the giveaway on my Facebook 🙂 🙂
elizabeth of course says
Oh my goodness, I am in love with ALL of them! I really like the look of those with just a single word superimposed over the photo instead of a separate solid bar. I love the one that says “Merry, Christ, Mas” . And the “oh What fun” has such retro charm! I don't know how to pick just one! Thank you so much for hosting this generous giveaway!
Shannon says
Since I had my 3rd gosling this year and totally flaked on sending out birth announcements I have to say I LOVE the year in review card. So cool
Kathryn says
I love this giveaway! I usually use a different website to make my photo cards, but I have to say I think I like Minted better! They have so many great options and way more religious ones. I really love how you can pick your color scheme first to pick up the colors in your picture. I hope I win!
Sonya says
There are so many fantastic cards, but I think my favourite is the Snowflake Frame Christmas Photo Card. We do so many outdoor winter activities that it just suits who we are as a family. I'm late starting my Christmas cards this year, so hopefully it will work out to be a good thing!
Katie says
My husband and I were just looking through the cards and we really like the Mistletoe Merry Holiday one…she makes beautiful cards! I hope we win!!! 🙂 thanks for the giveaway.
Sheila Laurence says
Wow, what a huge variety of cards! I don't think I've ever seen that many to choose from.
HollyElise says
Oh, and I tweeted about the giveaway (and then cleverly forgot to comment again…)
Betsy M says
Can you believe that I am way ahead of the game and ordered my Christmas card's already? Gotta love getting church directory pictures taken – they cost to much, I look a bit like h, but they are done.
It still would be nice to win so that I could have the card's made up for my folks. Dad is pretty sick but a nice picture of the two of them together on a Christmas card would be just priceless this year. Knowing Mom she would love the Madonna and Child or the Away in the Manger card. All are beautiful though.
kristin, alex. va says
I like O Come All Ye Faithful. Need to get to work on our picture!! 🙂
Nikki says
I like Celebrating Christ! 🙂
Beetnik Mama says
I'm due with baby #3 in mid-November, and I LOVE several of their holiday birth announcements. I wish I could use the 20% off right now, however, I really don't want to have this baby 3 weeks early. 😉
But maybe I'll win and I can still get the cards I like so much!
Carrie H. says
Oh, wow! I can't make up my mind. I think I like the Modern Holiday Christmas Photo Card the best. I like the dove and the sentiment.
Liza Rose says
Oooh indecision! There are so many neat ones! I really like the “Celebrating Christ”, “Family Year in Review” and the different mini booklets.
Tiffany says
Three Wise Men ~ what a stunning graphic!

I must say the Isaiah 9:6 card you show in the post caught my eye. “For Unto Us a Child is Born.” I am due with #7 on 12/22. This will be our 4th child born in December, which I consider to be perfect planning for combining Christmas greetings and birth announcements to save on postage!

We had a very blessed year (bought our first home, celebrated our 10 year anniversary and got engaged). We love the vintage typography message holiday cards and would LOVE to have it in the headline/storybook layout.
JennyM says
I love their unique religious Christmas cards–especially the one with the Madonna and Child. Lovely. You're right, I have some new ideas for our upcoming family photo! What beautiful cards.
Dorathea says
I always enjoy receiving cards from others; it's our annual inside-door decorations, and it perks things up. But I've never managed to get serious about sending cards out. Perhaps if I get moving fast enough now, it could happen.
Kendra says
Ooooooooh, love these! I'm looking at and loving the horizontal layouts as we have a photo all ready to go but no cards yet. Love Noel, but love a bunch of the other designs, too!

Catrina says
Wow! So many beautiful cards to choose from!
My favorites are the Vintage Photograph and Christmas Wreath, but I could go on forever!
Amy says
They are all beautiful. I like the Madonna card the most, but the mini book is a close second. If I win you would be preform a service to all my friends and relatives. I have not gotten it together in quite some time to send out christmas cards. Of course my fear is that unless you send someone to sign, address, stamp and mail; this year may still be the same.
Terri says
LOVE the family year in review card!! Pick me auntie Leila!
Terri R. Munro says

Christy says
I love the one you posted at the top. O Come All Ye Faithful is my favorite carol– reminds me of my dad! I sure wish the coupon code lasted a little longer, though. Our new baby does not appear to be in any hurry to make an appearance in time to make that deadline!
Lindsay says
I ADORE the Weathered Wreath card with JOY at the bottom. I was really hoping to be able to afford to send out Christmas Cards this year, but we're having our second baby right after Christmas.

Love the Airmail minibook card — it's like a gift in itself and I'd love to make a bunch to send to far-away relatives.

I like the photo one with Merry Christmas scribbled top and with Love from on the bottom. It's pretty and simple and would fit my family of 12 in the photo.
Brooke M says
Love the Peace on Earth one – love the color scheme, simple message. Really I'd be happy with nearly any one of them, though!
Anne says
I'm not saying this is my FAVORITE, because there are too many great choices to say for sure at this point, BUT, I like the Red Wreath Christmas Photocard. I like that it has a sort of frame all the way around the picture and I also like that you can add text to the back of the card which is also red and pretty.
Not sure whether I should wait and send Christmas cards AFTER the baby come or get them done before so they can be on time and out of the way…I wish due dates were a little more accurate! I could say something cute about “expecting TWO baby boys this Christmas” OR I could have the picture be of a new born baby boy…too many choices!
Anne says
And I posted about this event on facebook, although I was torn…that means I have two chances, but also might increase the pool…:P

I'm not sure what I'd pick there is so many great choices!

They are stunning! How does one choose! I like the “religious” ones… since “He's the Reason”… and the cards that fold, so they can be hung. God bless!

Definitely the mini-books for me. My mom would cherish one of those with a montage of our girls from this year.
Rosebud says
Actually, my favorite is the Holy Family caricature style from this post. I think I even have the perfect picture for it!

How can I pick? I love finding a fresh new site! So many “Merry Christmas” options when that is usually hard to find. I think I really like the Vintage Christmas one.

Crystal says
Gorgeous cards! It would take me awhile to narrow down the choice!!
We are a somewhat blended family so I have no clue how to do a photo christmas card this year, we just had a baby 10 months ago after 10 years of infertility/pregnancy losses and then became 'parents' to my two teen cousins through guardianship since their mom is in poor health and father deceased. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
Bethany says
All the cards are amazing . . . My favorite card is the Vintage Christmas Wishes one. Beautiful! You made me realize that, regardless of this give-away, it's time to be taking the kids and my camera somewhere scenic so I'll have some good pictures for this year's cards. Thanks!
Antonina says
These are beautiful! I honestly like the Rejoice card, the very first one I saw, most of all!
Monique says
I like the “Vintage Christmas Wishes” card. I love how you can add a bunch of pics on the inside too. Wish they had a selection of Religious art on the front – that combined with pictures inside would be perfect! Also like the Madonna & Child card. Hard to choose.
Melissa says
I love the Snowflake Christmas Tree and Ornate Frame designs. So pretty!
Sarah H says
I like the animal manger one.. And the Madonna one too.
Anne-Marie says
I like the modern snowflake cards. Simple, classic, but with Scripture.
Lillian says
Wow! What beautiful cards! I really liked the Family Year in Review because I'm awful about writing up those nice letters. Actually, I haven't sent out Christmas cards in over 6 years back when I only had 4 childrem. I'm about to have my 8th. Winnign would be a great help in getting back on the bandwagon! Even if not, I'm inspired to send out cards this year! Thanks!

I would have to go with a mini-book, but how to choose??? I loved the Ribbons and Tags Holiday Minibook – but really I'd have to spend some serious time looking at everything! I would love to win this because this year sending out a Christmas card isn't in the budget. What a gift this would be!
Misty says
My favorites are :Rejoice and Snowflake but they are all so beautiful! I am a fan of script writing so these really seem appealing and fresh to me.

Lovely cards! I like the “Painted Christmas Floral” design, but if I were actually going to chose something, I'd have to go by how it fit with the photo(s) I had.

So many beautiful choices! I'd probably choose the snowflake window minibook and change the wording. Thanks for the giveaway and also for the gentle reminder that I need to start thinking about Christmas cards!!

I love the sparkle holiday photo cards! There are so many beautiful designs though, so it's impossible to choose!!

The “O Come all Ye Faithful Card” is wonderful. I think I am taken in by the picture of pure love of that family more than anything else. However, the message is beautiful, and the family's picture mirrors the beauty of the message.
kort says
oh the classic merry christmas cards are just right! thanks for this opportunity!

Ruthie says
I love the mini book!
Shauna says
I like the Joy to the World card!
Anitra says
I really like the “evening snowflakes” – gives just enough holiday feel without overwhelming the picture (and without needing a holiday-themed picture). Also might go for the “Dashing Christmas” card – sometimes we don't get a good picture with everyone's face in it – going to be even harder this year with baby #2, who rarely cooperates for pictures for very long!
PNG says
Wow! Way to get lotsa comments.:) I really love the Classic Christmas Collage cards. Those are my faves every year because I can include a pic of each of the kids (7) plus one of all of us together. Those seem to work best every year now that our family has grown by leaps & bounds. Thanks for the awesome giveaway…hope I win!
Tara M. says
I'm loving the minibooks. What a fun idea when you have family all over the place!
Alishia says
I like so many, but especially the Family Statistics one and the Vintage Striped Christmas Holiday!
Kari says
They are so very beautiful. I love the ones based on Christmas Carols and Hymns…Joy to the World, O Come Emmanuel. I also love the ones that have the 3 wise men on them. I tend to send out Epiphany cards just to prove a point that Christmas Starts on Dec. 25….not ends then (also, it gives me a bit more time!)
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

Daniela says
Oh I love this site so much and was just browsing and dreaming about which design would suit our family's card for the holidays. Thank you for this opportunity to win!
Annalisa says
Wow! I'm really impressed. These are so nice looking. Now that I've left the page I'm not sure what it's called, but I really liked the one with kind of ponderosa type red and green Merry Christmas. Not sure why exactly, it's just kind of old fashioned. Or perhaps the words in the shape of a Christmas tree, one near the beginning. That's fun too.
Annalisa says
And I posted on Facebook too.
Pam says
I love the Merry and Bright ones with the graphic Christmas tree. So cute.

Oh! Thank you so much for telling us about this company! I LOVE all their cards! So much better quality and classier designs than most I've seen. I love the Family Year in Review cards, though if I won, I'd probably spend HOURS poring over them trying to decide what I'd get! It's not in the budget for us this year, but I'm bookmarking this site for future years when we can afford to splurge!!
@paulcschultz says
I like the Merry Scriptmas card. I like the idea of the All Ye Faithful card, shown first, above – particularly in “Holly Berry” color configuration – but I don't particularly care for the stock photo actually implemented in the example card.
@paulcschultz says
Facebooked it.
Heather says

I'm having such a hard time making a decision without having a photo to 'try on' the different cards… but I generally prefer the Graceful greeting holiday photo card or the Simple Noel Holiday photo card. Thanks for the chance!

Amanda says
I posted the giveaway on Facebook too!

I like the simplicity of “A Savior is Born Christmas Photo”. It conveys God's message of love to us without a lot of fuss. The large photo format suits my brood's picture beautifully too. There are so many to choose from.
Shawna says

I love the All Ye Faithful–I've made my own cards in the past with Noel and Peace themes–I like having something a little different than just “Merry Christmas”, but that still conveys the message of such a miraculous incarnation! Like you said–a chance to share what we really believe. Love it! Thanks for the chance to win!
Laura @Show Me A Day says
I love the “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”: modern: but hearkens us back to our roots!
