I knew you would come through with prayers!
Even if the comment thing wasn't working and for all I know still isn't working, I saw them all and was so touched by your generosity.
Because it's just a hard thing to have your child wheeled off into the operating room. It was hard when it was a broken ankle that needed to be reset under anesthesia (Rosie), and it was hard with this. Both Phil and I were choking back tears. You know how we felt. But it was better knowing how many people were praying.
And she did just fine. I won't gush about the surgeon, who is incredible, and the whole team, every member of which inspired confidence and exuded calm and actual, palpable happiness. And a sweet nurse who did good job giving her two braids.
I will just say that the operation took a little less time than expected, and she has been doing so well. She avoided nausea for the first day, which is a real blessing. There are two causes of the nausea — the anesthesia and the actual site of the surgery. Today she started out strong and has had the expected sort of falling back, but no worries. He said that these two days would be hard, and I think she's doing well.
I'll let Rosie do some normal blog stuff and hopefully I'll check in again soon. My deepest gratitude for the Communion of Saints! Thank you! We are praying for you too!

So happy to hear the good news. My kids are still small and thankfully I've not yet had the experience you describe, but I can only imagine that it is a profound experience of abandoment to Providence. We will continue to pray for her.

I will bless the Lord for He has heard my voice and my supplication. 🙂 So glad she's doing well. She's a trooper! (If it's ok with the surgeon, there's a kind of shampoo that is a dry foam you put in the hair and then brush out. Very nice for that grotty been-laying-on-unwashed-hair feeling. Just want to mention it–the nurses might have some or you can also buy it at like a Target.)

So glad…so very glad everything went well. We will continue the prayers until she is home safe and sound. It is the hardest thing in the world to watch them wheel your child away and not have any control over the outcome. Prayers for you and Phil to be at peace with her progress.
