“I found a chair in the living room that rocks and is just the right size for me!” (This chair was mine when I was his age!)
I have had lots of help these past few days! A certain someone likes carrying around a bowl of buttons (meant for the Christmas pjs), and that bowl turns up in funny places.
Little by little, we are getting ready.
Soon there will be a star on the top of our tree. Tonight…
We are not organized enough here to do much in the next week or so and do all the things that come with this time! So we will bid you a Merry Christmas right now — may your Christmas be a season of grace!
{At our church, at midnight Mass, we will be singing this motet, O Magnum Mysterium by Tomas Luis de Victoria. I love it so much. Here is a beautiful rendition.}
- Latin text
- O magnum mysterium,
- et admirabile sacramentum,
- ut animalia viderent Dominum natum,
- jacentem in praesepio!
- Beata Virgo, cujus viscera
- meruerunt portare
- Dominum Christum.
- Alleluia.
- English translation
- O great mystery,
- and wonderful sacrament,
- that animals should see the new-born Lord,
- lying in a manger!
- Blessed is the Virgin whose womb
- was worthy to bear
- Christ the Lord.
- Alleluia!
