~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
{pretty}
Both the blanket, beautifully made by Habou, and the baby (if I do say so myself).
(Please excuse the phone photos–my postpartum time has been pretty smooth, but I'm not yet organized to the point of breaking out the real camera!)
{happy}
My happy baby is two months old already!
He sure makes things happy around here.
{funny}
The Quack and I were discussing how fun it is to watch Freddie experience EVERYTHING for the very first time. The big ones are obvious–first time home, first bath, etc. but then here are all the little things. For example, here we have Baby's First Time Watching Mama Snap Her Fingers. He was a fan. (I snapped my fingers for about 10 minutes straight!)
{real}
Even happy babies have witching hours, leading to Babywearing and Beer.

He’s so sweet!! The last photo made me smile. When my firstborn (colicky, not a *happy baby*) was a newborn, the doctor advised me to drink a glass of wine a few evenings a week. “It will make you feel better and make you sleep better….and he might sleep better, too!” My mother-in-law, who raised 4 children, concurred. So I did have a glass of wine–medicinally, of course–those first few months. It helped!

That’s one sweet baby!! He must fill your days with joy! And the blanket is beautiful!
Alice says
Oh, Sukie! He is so precious. I can’t believe it is two months.
Anne says
Yay! Freddie! Oh my goodness are his eyes big, and long lashes too! What a sweet smile! Can’t wait to meet him…
Have you tried sitting a rocking chair while wearing him? That worked well with Elizabeth in the evenings. When John was at his AT and she was about 2 months she would get crazy around 6-7, I would put her in the front pack and pace till she calmed down, then I would sit in the rocker and eat my dinner (with beer!).
Also, your baby carrier looks pretty cute.

He is so darling!
Lisa says
Sukie, Congratulations! The two month mark was a really big one for me and my babies. Freddie is so cute! Glad you are doing well.
Julie says
Love it! Makes me want another baby! They are so precious. Way to go mama.
Jennifer says
Beautiful baby! Enjoy him, it goes way too quickly.

Sukie, I’m so glad you checked in today! You and Freddie are both beautiful!
I was surprised when my first baby was constantly crying for about 4 hours every single night. I had a beer a night, medicinally too, and it’s supposed to help your milk supply..at least, that is the science I quoted. She eventually grew out of it, but nobody could ever figure it out. A couple of years later, I was reading about colic and decided that she must have been sensitive to something in my diet, and I just didn’t know!
He is gorgeous and I am sure both you, and Daddy Quack are just thrilled!
God bless you and keep you

That’s the way to do the baby witching hour! 😉
Maurisa says
Oh, that face! He’s adorable. I agree about the witching hour. Our three year old still suffers from it!
We just updated our operating system and of course there are tons of glitches. Right now, I’m not seeing the {p,h,f,r} link up button and when I just try and copy the button code and paste it into my blog post, I get nothin’. Hopefully Apple will fix that glitch soon.
Rosie says
Maurisa, I’m pretty sure the problem is on our end, actually – not that we know how to fix it yet. Sorry about that!
Karen M says
He is so sweet! Also, I love the icon in the background of the last picture–perfect photo bomb, haha! 🙂
Megan says
Oh my! What a gorgeous blanket and baby. If I can ask, what sort of yarn did Habou use for the blanket? 😀 It looks so thick and fluffy.
Jeannie says
He is beautiful! The blanket is lovely. Beer is a great idea or wine. I always walk the babies outside but why didn’t I think of a beverage for myself?!
I’m so glad to see you posting on PHFR. Enjoy that scrumptious baby.
Virginia says
So sweet! We have a pretty hilarious picture of me nursing baby while drinking a Mint Julep. What a blessing to have such a sweet, happy baby.

His eyes are gorgeous! Haha I love the last photo, beer and a baby carrier. The remedy to many a witching hour 😉

We’re prego with #5 and my husband knows the perfect “push present” is a case of my favorite beer… Keep up the good work 😀

Beautiful baby Sukie – just beautiful.
Mrs. Pickles says
A ha ha ha ha haaaa! I love your Real! Why did I never think of this??
My mother always said that her favorite part about being a mother was introducing a new person to The World — she got to show us trees and rocks and grass and flowers and bugs all for the Very First Time. You see things with new eyes when you’re showing them to someone who’s never seen them before.
Woman of the House says
What cute little guy! Those big brown eyes and that toothless grin are adorable! He looks like you, Suki. 🙂
