~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
{pretty} / {handsome}
This week I gave The Artist an overdue haircut. I had forgotten how much I love a clean-cut look on a man; particularly my man!
{happy}
This photo makes me happy: another sneak-peek at preparations happening for Finnabee/Finnabee's nursery. We've been working very inconsistently on this project, which is drawing it out for weeks. But the motivation rises as the weeks tick away and the time of baby-arrival approaches!
All little kids love bright red, right? I can't wait!
It makes me happy to find out how well we are cooperating on this, our first major homemaking project. After I did the first coat with a regular brush, The Artist stepped in with a small brush for some detailing. We've been working in tandem quite well like that. It makes DIY so much more fun.
{funny}
Speaking of the painting we've been doing around here: here is a shot of the shirt that I've been using (when not borrowing the black tee shirt The Artist has on in the picture above).
Let's play a game. It's called: Based on the state of This Shirt, Can you Guess which Part of Deirdre Protrudes Furthest, Bumping into fresh coats of paint on Things?
When I started on the painting projects, this shirt (which is not a maternity shirt) covered my tummy. The last time I wore it (now at 34+ weeks!), I noticed that it no longer does. It's a very sophisticated look, as you can imagine.
{real}
Last Saturday, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, was the first “liturgical” anniversary of our marriage (we got married on this feast day last year, although the date was different).
I had The Artist swing by the grocery store for a few things, and he brought home beautiful flowers for Our Lady! Such a sweet gesture.
This is not the {real}. This is just an excuse to pull up one of my wedding photos. |
But they failed. This is how they looked by Tuesday, even with proper tending. Pathetic.
I have to convince him not to do flower shopping at this particular grocery store! Not worth the money. However, I'm sure Our Lady understood.
