Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
Thank you so much for all your good wishes and excitement on our behalf. I knew you'd be happy to hear our news!
Of course, the real reason we're so happy our little family is growing is so that we can work a little more variety into my {phfr} posts. Deirdre and the Artist like to (lovingly) joke that it's just an elaborate way to show pictures of Pippo — apparently the Artist has begun referring to my weeks as {pippo, hippo, fippo, rippo}.
See, this is why I need another baby!
(edited to clarify that Deirdre and the Artist are nothing if not appreciative of the Pippo pics. Lest anyone get the wrong idea!)
We found a big moth in the lavender, just sitting there. (Was it asleep? It's never occurred to me how or even whether moths sleep, but I guess they're nocturnal, aren't they?) Pippo thought it was just great.
(It's very helpful for Nature to just sit still for a minute so the toddler can take it in, don't you think?)
He quickly grabbed a few handfuls of grass, and asked if I thought the moth was hungry. Very thoughtful. I explained that moths eat nectar, sort of like bees and hummingbirds (both of which we see all the time in our garden, neither of which is very good at sitting still).
Now, every time we go by, he checks the spot where it had been, and tells me about the time we saw the moth there, eating nectar (“neck”).
My boy has finally, in the last few months, learned how to cuddle. And there's nothing sweeter.
He's a good sleeper, too.
That long receipt-looking thing is the list of gear the Lt has to turn in before he checks out. |
Our fridge pretty much represents how things are around here these days: a little more disorganized and messy than I'd like, but temporarily, and for good reason.
