Your creche is so pretty! I am still in search of the perfect one for our home. My Dad made us a timber-frame style barn a few Christmases ago… I just need to find the figurines to go in it!
Those first two pictures are just amazingly beautiful. I do hope that some day my house will look something like that…may I ask if that is a pine floor in your livingroom? It looks gorgeous…we are thinking of laying a pine floor over top of the original hardwood in our 100 year old farmhouse, since the original floors are in such dreadful shape. But I'm uncertain if it will really hold up.
I thought you would like to know that I took your advice and bought our boys two books off of the list of books you recommended a while ago: Treasure Island for my 9 year old, and Children of Noisy Village for my 5 year old. I've been reading the Noisy Village book to them at bedtime, and they absolutely love it, especially my 5 year old. He got so excited when we read about the girls making a “system,” as he calls it, where they could send letters in a basket back and forth between the windows in their house that we had to stay up last night making our own. One of our boys, or perhaps both, had cut all through my yarn, so we ended up having to tie a bunch of the 5-8 inch pieces of yarn together to make our rope. We tied a little basket on and looped the yarn around his bed post and strung it to his big brother's desk. He was thrilled! He sent a note to his big brother, “Wacha doing?” And his nine year old response was, “Do Not Disturb. P.S. Fine” It wasn't quite the response that he was hoping for, but it was still fun. 😉
Hope your family had a wonderful Christmas, and many blessings to you in the New Year.
